Basic Financial Understanding for Cyber & IT Professionals is an intensive 4-hour course that gives participants a solid and practical financial foundation - regardless of whether they work with IT, infrastructure, development, operations or information security.
The course is designed for both specialists and managers who need a better understanding of financial ratios and fundamentals in their daily work, so that they can argue stronger for investments, prepare business cases and secure funding for projects, initiatives, upgrades and improvements. It is targeted at those who want a financial understanding that makes the dialogue with the CFO, CIO and other management more precise, structured and impactful.
Through practical exercises and concrete examples, participants learn how business economics, OPEX/CAPEX, depreciation, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI work in practice, and how these concepts directly influence decisions about IT and security projects.
A central element of the course is that participants learn to build a simple but effective business casethat clearly communicates value, risk reduction and business impact in the dialogue with decision-makers.
The course demystifies economics and makes complex concepts practical and applicable, so that participants are stronger in the dialogue about priorities, investments and risks in IT and security projects.
The course is particularly relevant for those of you who work in IT, operations, infrastructure or security and who want a better understanding of the economic mechanisms behind technical decisions.
This is especially relevant if you experience that technical arguments alone do not create priority, and you need greater impact in budget processes and investment dialogues.
The course is also aimed at those who need to be able to explain value, needs and consequences in dialogue with management such as CFO, CIO or CEO, as well as understand how finances and ownership structure affect prioritization and decision-making in the organization.
